When & Where

  • April 13th - 14th 2019 – (Start: 2/23 Saturday at 6am –Time: Sunday 2/24 at 12pm
  • Weigh-in - Location TBA - Will be within 10 miles of Lampasas, Texas (Must Check in by 12pm Sunday)
    • Address TBA
    • Live music & Chipster's Grill BBQ Food Truck
    • Late arrivals for weigh-in will be disqualified

Prizes

  • Main Pot - 90% Payout - deduct 20.00 per team for side pots -  4 Heaviest Hogs - DO NOT NEED 4 hogs to weigh in (10.00 of each entry will be donated to OATH)
    • 1st - 50% of payout
    • 2nd - 30% of payout
    • 3rd - 20% of payout
  • Side Pots (10.00 per team, per pot, taken out of entry - 100% payout)
    • Biggest Single Hog
    • Most Hogs

Charity Raffle & Contributions (Tickets purchased at weigh in 10.00 per ticket – No maximum) – All proceeds from this raffle will be donated to www.OATHINC.org - Outdoor Association for True Heroes, is a faith based Nonprofit Organization that utilizes various outdoors activities centered around Faith, Family, and Community to improve the quality of life of our eligible Veterans. 10.00  per entry will be donate to OATH - PRIZES FOR RAFFLE TBA


Rules:

  • Entry fee of $250.00 PER TEAM – Rain or Shine
  • Contest starts on Saturday April 13th at 6am and ends at 12pm Sunday April 14th
  • Teams MUST be checked into weigh in prior to 12pm on April 14th. Late check ins will not be accepted
  • Teams CANNOT team up and hunt with other teams.
  • 20.00 per team will be taken out of the entry fee and 10.00 will be added to each of the 2 side pots. (Heaviest single hog & most hogs)
  • 4 Heaviest hogs, (do not need 4 hogs to weigh in)
  • Maximum of 4 hunters per team – No minimum – Teams may split up on the same ranch in pairs of 2 if dogs split while baying
  • During the hunt, the hog must be caught by a dog prior to human handling and must not be roped, run over, or trapped first
  • No Trapped Hogs – No Helicopter Hunting – No Pen raised hogs - No High Fenced areas - No Low Fenced Hog Proofed areas
  • Team members must hunt together with one pack of dogs at a time. If a team member is not able to continue the hunt, substitutions cannot be made
  • For the purposes of this hunt, hogs are defined to be feral, free-ranging, wild hogs which have not been previously held, trapped, pen raised, and released for the purposes of being hunted in this contest
  • Thermal & Night vision equipment IS allowed for spotting purposes only
  • NO SHOOTING OF ANY PIGS, Knife kills only. Any hog with a bullet hole will not be a legal entry.
  • No Gifting of Animals, of any kind, to other teams – both teams will be disqualified
  • Hogs must be clean before weigh-in & Hogs must be field dressed before weigh in, slight water due to ice IS allowed, but no fully wet hogs
  • Hogs must be taken away from weigh in area to be disposed of, NO Dumping at weigh-in
  • Hunters under the age of 18 must have parent/guardian permission/signature to participate
  • Land is not provided
  • Land owners may be observers, but must be paid entrants to kill hogs or contribute to a team in any way.
  • ​Must have VALID Texas Hunting License & Hunter’s Education Certificate/Deferral 
  • ALL animals MUST be killed within the contest start and end times. No Frozen Animals, or animals killed outside the contest times.  Violators will be disqualified.
  • ​Any contestant found to be cheating, attempting to cheat, or in violation of any Texas Game Law will cause the disqualification of the entire team and forfeiture of any and all entry fees. The perpetrator and/or team may also be banned from future contests.
  • ​Promoter WILL be allowed to participate in contest
  • Winning teams WILL be subjected to polygraph
  • Registration Closes 2 hours before Contest start time.
